Coronary heart disease and chest pains

Posted ,

So long story short I'm 24 and since November I have been having horrible chest pains, I have a strong family history of heart disease in my family from young ages. After months of not being believed and it being put down to anxiety a coronary CT scan showed I have a 40-55% blockage in my left anterior descending coronary artery.

I'm now waiting on a referral for a nuclear scan to see how its effecting blood flow. Only thing is the cardiologist doesn't think its angina at this stage as its a relatively small blockage.

however I'm in pain everyday, heart palpitations and breathless easily. I have tried Amitriptyline, Duloxetine and Gabapentin (for pain relief effects) Naproxen (unfortunately allergic too) and max strength co-codamol and nothing touches this pain. I was given beta blockers, propranolol 10mg 3 times a day to manage the palpitations which ever so slightly helped the pain but I don't tolerate them well (heart goes a bit slow while laying down and get some nasty effects)

has anyone had a diagnosis of a blockage that small that was causing them pains? if so what helped you the most, I'm struggling to walk somedays or even stand for prolonged periods, I desperately want to have some kind of normality again.
