i’m sorry you are going through this. I know how scary it can feel. Keep in mind that your bloodwork and ECG were normal so that’s great. Yes cortisol levels can be high and cause anxiety sensations including rapid heart rate and many other sensations that are uncomfortable.

I have had and still have the same feelings that you get.

I’ve had anxiety for many years and a few things that I learned are

that the more we worry and stress out about the sensations we are feeling, the worse they can get. it’s really important to take time out to learn how to use your breathing to calm down your heart rate. You can find this on YouTube. Just search for mindfulness breathing exercises and practice them during the day. Also relax your mind by listening to meditations for anxiety.

some other things that are important are staying hydrated with water and yes is your doctor said get some exercise at least walking a little bit. Everybody’s different and they respond differently to anxiety and stress. Just do what works best for you. Sometimes we need to speak with a counselor who can help you manage all of this. Remember not to overthink things and just take one day at a time. You’re going to be OK! I survived many years with the same thing on and off. Remember that none of the symptoms you get with anxiety or harmful they are just weird and scary. But you can learn to control them. Take care of yourself! Everything is going to work out. ❤

so palpitations can get worse if im constantly thinking or worrying about it ? i try to think positive as i have health anxiety and i hate that i do.. and thank you jan.. i will try to remember my EKG and bloodwork ..

yes when you constantly think about the anxiety, you are telling your brain that something is wrong so the brain responds. even if there is nothing truly wrong your brain thinks that there is. That increases the adrenaline that is released which causes the rapid heart rate. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been through that.

But I did learn that if you overthink it everything gets worse. none of the sensations of anxiety are harmful otherwise I wouldn’t still be here. They’re just weird and scary sometimes. Keep yourself busy as much as you can . you will be ok!

I’d suggest you talk to your doctor. He’ll surely guide you with managing your cortisol level apart from having medicines. Do not believe whatever is shown on random videos on youtube.
