Cortisone injections for C6 having no effect?

I was wondering if anyone had cortisone injections which haven't had a response?

i have been suffering with neck and back pain for

years but now under a specialist to hopefully sort my neck then start working down. i was hoping that this "diagnostic" injection would provide some relief and start the ball rolling towards surgery and hopefully a bit of a normal life.

I have MRI verified prolapses of C5/6 and C6/7 with narrowing of the facet at C6. I have all the radiating symptoms into the thumb and all the usual places and weakness in the hand etc.

However, I was given a guided injection into the site on Wednesday and told to monitor symptoms mostly for the first 4 hrs and 24hrs. The thing is, it's had zero effect. If anything, it made symptoms in the first 24hrs worse.

Anyone else has similar? i was hoping this would pinpoint that area was the cause but now I don't know what to think.
