I have had costo for over a year now and it playes up often , sometimes i feel almost swollen in my ribs under my arms they just burn etc, question is when iv googled tietze it says lumps and redness is the key thing to look for but reading all these forums people say they have tietzes without lumps etc so how can you tell the difference between the two if you dont have these symtoms??

I have a lump in the armpit and burning in the arm. It sometimes feels swollen where arm and breast meet. When diagnosed with Costo just had horrible pain in chest area. Wish I knew what is causing all this. Thanks for everyone's input.

What is the difference between costo and Tietze?

I was diagnosed with costo about 2 years ago. However, I believe I still have it on/off.

I was a bit concerned as again on and off have occasional cough whenever I have the rib pain and sometimes feel bit breathless and voice is a little hoarse. I have felt dizzy slightly but haven’t coughed up blood or doesn’t hurt to breathe or cough. I just wondered whether the costo can actually cause a cough rather than the other way round?

I worry about my lungs but when I was first diagnosed had spirometery tests and chest X-ray and all was clear 🤔 I still worry it could be my lungs 😔 can anyone clarify that these could still be typical costo symptoms?
