Costo Pain

Hi, I've suffered with Costochondritis for just over 6 years. It comes and goes but recently has really bothered me and like many, it has made me irritable and moody. Nobody understands the pain. I also have a heart condition, heart failure, which is an added worry as sometimes i panic it's not actually the costo causing the pain. I'm on several medications due to the heart failure and also had a full hysterectomy only 2 years ago due to cervical cancer. I'm 39yrs old and feel about 60. I currently take naproxen and co-codamol for the pain as i'm not allowed ibuprofen. If anybody has any home remedies or recommendations, i'm willing to try anything. Many thanks x

When I get a flare up my Dr puts me on a Prednisone z pack and it helps ... I'm like you I can't take ibuprofen but I get relief from rest, heating pad, Tylenol and praying the damn thing goes away soon ...

So sorry you are going through so much Hilary!!!  Have you been to accupuncture? have drs sent you to any specialists for pain control? I use 3000 mgs of tylenol everyday and Neurontin as well. I have soft ice packs on my chest almost constantly. And they help alot. Theres also a site you can go to for exercises for Costro. They are mostly like soft streches. Also, theres somthing called Arnica gel All natural. It helps my son alot with muscle and soft tissue pain. Hope this helps you. God Bless. and hang in there!!  smile
