Sorry you're going through this. I had costochondritis for over three years. The doctor I was going to kept putting me on different medicines, some of which I had bad reactions to. I finally changed doctors, and the PA at the new practice asked me if I would like to try physical therapy. At that point, I was mistrustful of any new advice; but I tried it, and after the first visit, I already felt better! They began with breathing techniques and then various stretches. I had to continue to do the breathing and stretching at home, but it worked and the costo was gone! That was a couple of years ago. Now I am getting occasional flareups, but I got out the papers with the exercises and started doing them again. Good luck to you; I know how painful this condition is. I recommend physical therapy.
