cough and AS

Hi ;

i suffer from AS a year a go , now i have coughing since 3 days form thoracic origine , although i have a flu last week .

i am afraid that this cough could be because of lung issues related to AS .

thanks for help

    I highly suggest to take prevention medicines for tb. Also please get tb gold test done. I haven't started my treatment I'll start it in a week and before doing this I got tested if I'm eligible to do so. My test included hepatitis tests, chest X-ray, liver tests, tb gold test. It was just to make sure my system is fine and able to handle the blockers. Then I received two vaccines, one was for influenza and other for pneumonia. Basically allergies and lungs. And then I got tb prevention tablets just so when I start the TNF blockers I have very less chance of getting that. Please be on safe side and get the test done. I hope your doctor also made you do this before starting your treatment. If not please do it ASAP.

      but i dont take any tnf-inh,also i experience coughing compaied with chest pain , is ti costochondritjs ..is it tb..is it pulmonary issue?..who knows .

      Hi,

      May I know what medicines are you taking?

      If it includes methrotraxate then you really should go for a tb check up. Methrotraxate increases chances for that and may cause it. Even if you're not taking any of it. I really suggest you get checked and be sure. Better safe than sorry.
