COUGH AND ASTHMA DETERIORATION

I was prescribed Ramipril about 3 weeks ago. I investigated this site then and was alarmed at the negative comments about the product then but thought I would persevere with the drug as, like so many people on here, want to bring my blood pressure down.
I have had horrendous headaches, feel so tired that I sleep most of the day, have no energy, have pains in my chest, and my joints hurt so much. But the thing which has really struck me is that my asthma, which has been under control for years, has suddenly got much worse and I am using my inhaler constantly throughout the day and night.
I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow and I am going to tell her that I don't want to take this drug any more.
I have read other people's postings where they say that it is better to take the drug than to have the inevitable heart attack/stroke but when you feel like I do, you really start to wonder?
Has anyone else experienced a worsening in their asthma?

He finally changed my medication after putting me on a course of antibiotics which made no difference to the cough. Within a coupleof months it was like a curtain had been lifted and i felt so much better... except for the cough.
Another visit and he said give it a bit longer... I went back again this week and i have been sent for a chest xray and am having a lung function test next week. The doc thinks it may be asthma.... which i have never suffered from before.

Within days of taking , my joints became painful, I had a constant runny nose(and ears) and I suffered muscle weakness. I then developed a dry cough and breathlessnes, and had swelling to my face. I had not made the connection with this drug until I read the comments on this site.
I am seeing my GP later this week, and will def. be changing medication
