Coughing almost immediately after eating...

Does anyone else have coughing almost immediately after eating something that doesn't agree with them? I just had what was supposed to be a nice bland meal out but it was not quite what was promised. Within a few minutes I feel the need to cough, like there's fluid I need to cough up then the burning chest starts (although to some extent it's always there). X

    Hi

yes I used to get this all the time then I was diagnosed with silent reflux. I was on laprazole for 4 years and since being diagnosed with diabetes and losing 3 and half stone I no longer have it and I'm off tablets... Watch what you eat all foods can be a trigger write a food diary. Diary was bad for me and white stuff, bread and pasta. Give it s go that's the only way to find out what your triggers are and if you are over weight try to lose some it really does help. Good luck 😊

Thanks, my symptoms are mostly hoarseness and although I do have some chest pain it seems to be a more constant irritation triggered by the discomfort in my voice rather than the usual heartburn so mine seems more like LPR. No weight to lose fortunately/unfortunately depending on how look at it otherwise that might help! I've been trying lansaprozole but no help so far. I'm trying the food diary at the moment but nothings jumping out at me other than tea at the moment. It's so frustrating, I'm trying all the tips but nothing seems to be making a difference sad at least I know it's not just me! x

    Hi

Yes I did and even when drinking water. Medication didn't work and I have recently has the nissen fundoplication operation and so far no cough or no reflux. I've had a bit of throats clearing but I can cope with that.

It's only been a week since my op so still got some way to go.

My doctor didn't want me to have the op but I'm glad I did.

Yes I have developed cough since going away for a month and eating foods I don't normally eat and my bed wasn't raised high enough. It's getting bit better but taking long time. I find I cough after eating. I'm wondering if it's where the acid gets into lungs at night. I don't feel burning though.
