Coughing blood

Here I go again. Went to my doctor yesterday coughing blood for about 10 minutes. He told me again not to worry it’s your BX. He sent me another CT scan. Hard not to worry. Anyone can help me stay calm and has the same problem please send me a text. Thank you

it is is very distressing isn’t it when you see the blood. Yes, I have had the same and always been told not to worry, but you do worry. However, the doctors have been right and it has never been anything other than the bx, in my case.Wait to see what your scan reveals., and take it from there.

I've coughed up blood for a whole day & got ABs, told that if blood returned then I should go back to doc or ER. It returned 2 days later. I Wouldn't have gone anywhere but doc called & went into conniptions so I went & got 2d AB and at some point around then got my scan & BX DX.
It is very hard because we hear all the time that we should immediately seek medical help if we cough up blood, and we've heard that ad nauseum for decades. I don't cough up much blood now. My pulmo works pretty hard to keep my coughing down to a minimum of necessary coughing. At the time that I was doing all that bleeding it could take many hours of episodic coughing to get sputum up & out. It's much easier now, as it should be with the umpteen lung meds I am on. Of course I choose not to worry about whether there's a lot of blood coughing in my future. I'm just doing what works for me in the present.

It's just little ruptures and suchlike I believe - brought on by coughing. Scary but not dangerous. Try to relax - it's not good for BX to stress.
