Coughing up blood for 3 years

Posted , 3 users are following.

I'm 40 years old and I have been coughing up small amounts of blood for three years. It's at completely random times and never linked to anything in particular. It tends to be small amounts and maybe 3/4 times every 4/5 months. I have told the doctors many times but they never seem to be too interested. Has anyone suffered from something similar?

Thanks

Coughing up blood can be related to active TB infection. I am not sure how can your doctor not listen?

Go back to them and ask for a sputum culture test.

Have you travelled ecently or come in contact with with someone who was coughing?

I haven't been anywhere other than the UK.

I think because it's small amounts they don't see it as anything urgent.
