Could Autoimmune Hepititus be triggered by anxiety?I have AIH too and was diagnosed at 43, now 57.

I'm curious if anyone else suffered from anxiety or panic attacks prior to being diagnosed with Autoimmune Hep or for that matter any other autoimmune disease.

I was told when diagnosed at 40ish I probably had AIHep since I was 15 because of all the damage to my liver. I had no symptoms EVER.

I did suffer from anxiety and panicattacks as a child and into adulthood. I always suspected this could have triggered this disease .   So just curious if this is a common denominator.   I'm 57 now and meds have kept inflammation down to where my liver is healing itself thank goodness!

Yes I truly believe anxiety has a lot to do with it. I have AIH was just diagnosed 7 weeks ago. I had chronic stress too. My back spasms are the worse. I can't get stressed out or I get sick right away. I have pains in legs arms etc. Seeing neurologist tomorrow might have nerve damage. Feet freezing and hands. I am on Prednisone just lowered to 10 mg 2 days ago and Aza 50 mg. hate these Meds. But my inflammation was off the charts. ALT was 1533 and AST was 1049. Now 116 and 85. Not quite there.  I pray a lot.   And have good days and bad. I am trying to stay real positive.  How is your liver enzymes?

Your enzymes are really going down, so congratulations!   My enzymes are generally in the upper teens and lower 20s.   The medications have really worked.  I am fortunate I have no symptoms from this disease or from the meds. I was lucky a regular check up caught the high enzymes 12 plus years ago.

Hi I am down to 41 and 46.  Go every 2 weeks for blood work. So this Monday I go again. I will continue that for another 3 months.. Had 2nd biosby done about 3 weeks ago and Hepologist said i was F1 F2 said it was better then the first biopsy were my inflammation was sky high they said it has to cool down.  First biopsy scared me so bad at F3/4. But he said inflammation always has to settle down. I am praying my fibrosis stays low and I eventually get Down from 10mg prednisone and lower my Aza from 50 mg. I have bad depression and anxiety and cry way too much. I get sweats constantly is that normal? Eating right started walking and praying to go into remission.. Are you in remission all this time? Or on meds? And what's your dose? So Glad to hear from you 💕💕
