Could be globus, could be anxiety, could be abscessed tooth..

Tomorrow makes a whole month that i have been dealing with my issues..

on June 8th, i was eating a piece of sausage & it felt as if it got stuck in my throat. I had a small panic attack & ended up going to the ER. They said nothing was blocking my airways, go home and drink fluids & it would eventually go down..

2 days later, i still felt the sensation of something being in my throat, so i went to the ER again. They did xrays & showd me that nothing was there & referred me to a GI specialist..

I went to the specialist & he called this Globus Hystericus. He explained how it can make you hysterical & feel as if you are choking or cannot breathe.

He prescribed me Protonix 1x a day..

My body was going into panick real bad & at that point i would shake & heart would beat outta my chest everytime i would try to eat or drink anything, so the hospital gave me anxiety medicine..

i took the meds for about a week & they seemed to help calm me down..

The specialist made me an appointment to have a EGD. They stretched my throat & did some dilation as well.

It showed i had inflammation in my stomach & acid reflux really really bad. They then upped my protonix to 2xs a day and added Zantac 300mg for night time.

At this point, i have done lost 8 pounds due to not eating & im on meal replacement drinks to be able to have something in my system.

Its like my body gets scared to eat.. idk..

Fast foward to them doing ANotHER EGD. They said everything looked normal, so they want to do the esophagus manometry and the bravo - 48 hr swallow study go monitor all of the acid in my stomach..

At this point, it doesnt feel like food stuck in my throat anymore, it feels like a lump of mucus.. and anytime i drink anything, try to eat, etc I immediately have to cough up some mucus!

Well, i also have been having problems out of my back, bottom right side tooth, so i decided to go see a dentist yesterday & he told me it is abscessed. He put me on antibiotics & he is going to pull it on Thursday.

My question is...

Could the inflammation in my stomach be from the infection in my tooth?

Could this abscessed tooth be causing all of this thats been going on with me for the last month?

Has anybody else been through anything similar to this??

Hey Monica, I actually think it’s the other way around. I think the acid reflux caused your tooth to decay since the acid is going back up your esophagus. My acid reflux caused my tonsils to be inflamed.
