Was placed on ramipril for 2 years whilst taking it developed mouth ulcers breathing difficulties, internal bleeding, and eventually fistula ,after being addmitted to hospital with breathing problems was found to be allergic to ramopril. Now diagnosed with Crohn s . Has anybody else developed Crohn as a result of a drug allergic reaction or any other allergy .? Somebody says it could be connected to milk has anybody heard this ? When had mouth ulcers couldn't eat solids , and so drank lots of milk ,thanks for any replays.

Hi sandy, i'm with you there, but proving it ,or finding a cure (i don't know how)

.  Was you just given Ramipril on it's own or with other blood pressure meds.

Systemic lupus Erythematosus , MAP from milk, Latest from my consultant few weeks ago  could be Latent TB of the bowel  , but not done any test's on me,(as yet)

Sandy i to had bad reaction with Ramipril , Just me but somehow think these Tablets destroy the Mucosal lining of the stomach , plus the water tablets don't help either .Have you been on the Yellow Card Scheme ,have a look . good luck.

Thank you for your reply. Just on ramopril initially developed ulcers in mouth and throat. Was sent for lupus assessment but negative. Doctors afraid to commit to diagnosis of Crohn,s initially but now more positive after numerous admissions to hospital including a spell of sepsis recently, now want me to start on infuximab worried about possible side effects, somebody talked about possible long term antibiotics over a 12 month period using the treatment normally used for TB ,has anybody heard anything or had this treatment told they doit at Guys hospital

Hi sandy,  did you ever take a antibiotic before all this started with ramipril . example  clarithromycin for some kind of infection.

After starting with ramipril and getting the reaction ,multiple mouth ulcers and swollen glands, was prescribed 5 day course of antibiotics. Since stopping ramopril mouth ulcers went, left with severe stomach problems and fistula ,having been admitted recently for sepsis was placed on intravenous antibiotics for 4 days then oral antibiotics

I am having this unbearable upper abdomen pain after taking antibiotics Clairythromycin, Amoxicillin high doses for 7 days. I was healthy before without any pain, but now I cant even walk properly because of this unbearable pain. In my case strange thing is that movement aggravates my pain which I dont think is related to Crohn as I have never heard anyone with crohn feel or aggravate pain with movement, apart from that I never had diarrhea, bowel movements are normal but pain is unbearable and I cant do any physical activity because of that. Its always their but intensity changes throughout the day.

I was placed on metronidazole and also ciprofloxacin ,warned that some antibiotics could cause pain in the back of legs and calf by doctor , have you got this? I have had pain in legs and swollen for over a year, at one time was in a wheelchair. Doctor said Crohns is an immune system response and can effect other areas

No my pain is in the upper abdomen just below ribcage and is in back as well but abdominal pain is unbearable and feels exactly like getting kicked in stomach. It suddenly started after antibiotics use. Movements aggravate my pain which is a mystery because mostly digestive tract problems unless it is acute or very serious problem or if something ruptured, does not interfere with physical movements.
