Could I be peri menopausal?

Posted , 9 users are following.

Hi everyone .. i'm 45 in December & even though I have regular but very light periods I feel like i'm losing my mind lately. I'd say the last 6 months in particular. Feeling anxious & low mood. No interest in sex, irritable, palpitations, sleep is terrible & no energy !! But my fsh test came back normal? Does anyone think it is still peri menopause i'm experiencing? Have always had problems with depression/anxiety so very confusing time for me xxx

Hi Kelly you sound just like the rest of us perimenopausal, even though all of your tests have come back normal that's the same with all of us. Just make sure that you check your thyroid and all is clear.Other than that I think that you have joined the rest of us on the roller coaster ride of perimenopause. Keep reading and posting on this site. It helps! Hope you feel better soon!

Hi Kelly, it sounds like peri. As for depression. I gave always had issues to deal with. Going through peri does not help and it makes matters worse I am afraid. You are not alone. We are here to help and support each other. Good luck.

    Hi Kelly

Yep sounds familiar . But I would highly reccomend you decrease or cut out sugar choclate and the likes out of your diet. As I did too as omg I though I was going mad. By head that that bad and the stress and anxiety . But I can not believe the difference since I cut out choclates sweets sugar etc . I am so much calmer and a lot lot less stressed. I actually can't believe the difference.

I did too. I was a chocoholic. But when I discovered that it had me highly stressed. Anxiety to a stage that I was afraid to be alone and afraid to eat while alone and actually afraid of everything. And killing my energy levels. I soon discovered I could live with out it. I still have s biscuit or two but I don't even like the look of choclate now. It has horror memories for me. 😩😬😩 I actually feel like I'm getting my life back now.

How did u manage to do it? Iv tried to cut bk on tea cos I take sugar in my tea but i constantly crave sweets etc c

Well if it's only a bit of sugar in your tea. I wouldn't worry about it. As long as your not drinking to much tea. But it's really mind over matter. As much as I loved my bars of choclate it's just not worth the anxiety. So that's what keeps me going the fact I tell my self I can have it if I want it, no ones stopping me. but then think anxiety. And then I quickly don't want the choc. But now I just couldn't be bothered with it. But also if you crave choclate it can be a sign of magnesium or iron deficiency . 😀😀😀. Eat apples or bananas or drink water when you want something sweet. U.K. Be surprised how quick you get out of a bad fashion. I would never eat fruit or drink water until I gave up eating chick and sweets. You can and will do it. Don't tell yourself you can't. It is soooo worth it.

I do still drink a bit of 7up. And one biscuit with my tea after dinner. 😀

Hi Kelly 7171. I just turned 41 in August and have felt with anxiety and depression for over 10 yrs. But I've been in Peri for almost a year now and have noticed that it has made my anxiety and depression worse . I have sought the help of a psychiatrist who has prescribed a mild anxiety med that has made a huge difference! Also she said take 2000mg. Vitamin D a day because it also helps and I've noticed that while taking the daily vitamin D my hair is getting thicker ,stronger and growing and my skin is getting so pretty. It has also decreased the aches and pains I was having. I hope you find relief soon.
