Could I use half an applicator of estriol twice a week instead of a whole one once a week.

I want to use half the applicator of estriol cream once a week instead of a whole one because the first time I use toilet after using the cream half of it falls out anyway.  It is helping the constant feeling of burning and feeling as though I have a UTI  but apprehensive about using it.  

Has anyone gained weight after using it and is it safe to use

    Sorry to hear about your son`s illness. Poor man he has had a lot of bad luck. But he is very lucky to have his family especially you to care and look after him. I understand it must be hard for you if you are not feeling well....your patients just runs out doesn`t it? Try any stay positive i`m sure things will improve.

      Marnie I haven't time to reply just now but will reply this evening I have sent for an organic water based cream to use with estriol (my decision) will talk about it later

      The cream is called YES VM water vaginal moisturiser it's £11 for box with six applicators - it maybe won't be any use will see will try it for one box. The estriol is helping but still not right. Think it said one applicator lasts three days so don't know if it's on prescription or not would be too expensive if not. 

      I still have bathroom trips during the night - three times, used to be five - think it makes things worse because always tired can't get back to sleep straightaway.  I will try anything to get rid of this. 

      Are you improving 

      what a pest it is.

      Have used the YES VM twice and last night. Ewing the second time and never again. I had bathroom trips five times during the night and I felt as though I had a UTI and the stinging started again too. Not so bad  just now but not right. Never again - have ordered another pack, definitely won't be using it. Will stick with estriol. 

      Hope you are finding something to help

      On my I just called Dr too, waiting for reply, my inside ok but outside irritatation still back and forth, the wash or what to try next the steroid can't be forever, hope you feel better soon too Olive!

      So do I and you too. 

      No matter how much I drink I never feel I get rid of as much as I drink nowadays and this getting up during the night is getting me down.

      have you tried the dermol steroid cream on the outer areas

    Have you thought about Homoeopathic medicine??  I am using hypericum 30c tabs.

    It works on the nerve endings. When the pain starts take 2tabs  every 15mins. for 6 times.  When my pain is no so bad i am using this because its not invasive and more gentle on the body.  Trouble is you dont really know if the condition is just getting better on its own or whether  its the Hypericum working. Read up about it...... I`m in New Zealand....  our winter.!!

      Just shows we are all the same no matter where we are in the world - I would try anything and the YES VM was the very worst experience. I will read up on homeopathy medicine because I know I am not good with lots of conventional medicines. 

      We collect our son tomorrow he was on respite for four days so am hoping for a big improvement soon. It's such an annoying problem.

     I have only just started using estriol 0.01%  I have  VA along with the associated UTIs and BV I am at my wits end my doctor thinks I'm health anxious which is rubbish I am praying that estriol works for me I had Vagifem 10 MGS but I did not agree with me this is been going on since I had polyps removed in January I have used yes water-based which is fine but a lubricant not a moisturiser I have also used Yes VM haven't found any difference I agree with what you're saying half of prescribed because half of it comes out in the morning !   I have never known such pain and uncomfortable feelings in my life I just hope that the oestriol does the job I have done a lot of research and this particular one does not enter the bloodstream or only a very little does

      My Gaenocologist has put me on to a steriod cream  called  Dermol 0.05. It has taken away the burning. I have only been using it for two and a half days but at the moment it is giving me relief.

      I sat in a sitz bath last night with two cups of apple cider vinegar and a few drops of pure tea tree oil wow feel so much better this morning burning has gone maybe this is the way forward and best of all it's natural hopefully will cure the vb will continue with estriol and post here in about two weeks

      Pleased you have good results. I think do what ever works for you. 

      Have you heard of Yoni  steams? google it. I have tried them a few times ...

      I imagine the women had to treat themselves in the old days.

      I know what you are going through and I am fed up of it too. I think mine has come from a pelvic floor repair and when the catheter come out I couldn't pass any urine at all.  There was a terrible nurse who wouldn't believe me because she scanned my bladder and said it was empty after drinking water and hours after it came out and I was beginning to be distressed and she still wouldn't put in another catheter. This went on all day and right to 4am the next morning when a surgeon was available and all day I begged the nurse to help me and she wouldn't. Eventually I got a supra pubic catheter at 4am without anaesthetic and eventually it was discovered I had a haematoma blocking my bladder and when it eventually burst my bladder was fine. I reckon all that has done something to my bladder. I complained to the hospital about that nurse first time I have complained about anyone but I couldn't let that go. The things us women have to put up with. The estriol is working but it's still not right. My doctor says there is such a small amount of estrogen he would be lucky to find any in my bloodstream.  

      I am on estriol 0.1% too half an applicator on a Wednesday and Saturday

       I too would have complained  I had a UTI last week had to see an emergency doctor on Saturday got some antibiotics which I don't like taking and he has told me that estriol  is the safest HRT it does not go into your bloodstream  I have been menopausal since the age of 36 and I'm now 63 and had no real problems until I had three polyps removed from my  womb in February  I now do estriol  twice a week and hopefully that will sort out the pH which is what this all boils down to and I get no more VB  or UTIs  what amazed me with my doctor is that she is a woman and she called me health anxious !  All of my health issues revolve around my women's bits so of course I know when something isn't right but the man doctor I normally see is really really good and he explains everything  and after using the estriol last night I know I have moisture no pain when inserting but I've got a long way to go will keep you updated in a couple of weeks hopefully things are now going to settle after a long half year

      One other thing I forgot to ask you is do you get burning or rather a bit uncomfortable or the day after you have used estriol

      Yes like today after using it last night. I am only using the half applicator but a lot of the estriol sticks to the side of the plunger bit even although it's not the full applicator..

      do you still feel a bit of stinging when you use the bathroom and I could swear it smells like rotten eggs.

      Ready this I think of myself, after much operation I couldn't pee after drink for hours too! They were going to send me home with the catheter, but I refused to leave until I could pee
