Could it be Ménière's disease help??

I'm asking for your advice before I approach my GP ... for 12 years now (since the age of 25) I have experienced labrynthritis as diagnosed by my GP a few times, I have also experienced several ear infections which I never experienced before this age!
I attended for a hearing test a year ago as I keep on getting a muffled ear and a full feeling and tinnitus. The results showed that I had moderate hearing loss, therefore I was directed to my GP for further investigation. I attended for a hearing test where an audiologist reported that I had hearing loss as I had been in noisy environments. I argued this as I have worked in healthcare all my life and was a parent from the age of 19 so never partied hard nor worked in noisy environments ... following this test a consultant wrote to me saying my hearing was normal!
For the last year I keep getting sudden periods of dizziness, fullness in the ears and a muffled sensation when this happens I experience really annoying tinnitus by the time I get a GP appointment it resolves.
It is beginning to get me down a bit after being told off by an audiologist regarding my non existent noise impact and then after being told by 2 audiologist that my hearing is impaired to be told by an olantarinalgist that my hearing was fine .. I feel a bit of a fraud. Reading into this I can identify with Ménière's disease.
Are these symptoms that anyone who experiences Ménière's can identify with at all? Thank you.

Hi Julie. Please read through some of the other discussions on this forum and you will find that the classical symptoms of Meniere's Disease are:
1. vertigo
2. ear fullness/pressure
3. tinnitus
4 hearing loss
The type of hearing loss will confirm the diagnosis. MD patients have hearing loss in the LOW decible range.
My suggestion to you is to see an ENT (ear/nose/throat) doctor who will administer a hearing test and be able to interpret it for MD diagnosis. If you do have MD, the ENT will likely prescribe a diuretic med (water pill) and a sedative like Ativan that helps calm inner ear flairups.
Let us know what you find out after the ENT visit and we can help you cope with whatever your illness is
GOOD LUCK!
