Hello

For a long time I have had a feeling that I can't breathe proper. Feels like i habe something stuck in my 'pipe' and feel like somethings inflamed there too. Could it be my thyroid Even the my the TSH is normal (2.0 is the latest result. Before that it was 2.7 last year) I've had a whole host of other symptoms too but docs saying there is nothing wrong with me

I'm fed up with worry

Thanks in advance

    Hi Samantha,

Write a full list of all your symptoms, and give or send to your doctor,so that they have a full picture of what's going on.If you went to your doctor saying, for instance, that you feel you have a lump in the throat, they'll probably say it's anxiety. So give them the full picture to work on.Good luck.Gill

I have already Been to the doctors and was refferred to a 'general medicine' specilist who did blood tests and they said they were Normal. Chest x ray normal. I'm due to go for a abdominal scan next week but if this is normal he discharge me. I am so fed up because it affects me a great deal.

You can only persevere, and actually come out with what you suspect is wrong with you,if you haven't done so already.

Yes I think I actually need to spell it out to them! I will speak to the doctor tomorrow and tell her what I think It is. Thanks for your messages

I used to choke every time I ate. The thyroid was enlarged but doctor and specialist both said it was OK size wise. Anyway I had a barium xray, where you stand by a plate and are Xrayed as you drink a milkshake with barium in it. This showed my thyroid distorting my windpipe. It was removed and problem disappeared. Specialist said my thyroid was a hard as wood when he removed it, but he could not detect this by feel beforehand. Could be well worth pushing the hard to breath symptom in the throat and suggesting a barium X-ray.
