Could it cause Ankle pain?

Hi all, just wondering if varicose veins could cause pain in the interior of the ankle, right where the flexor retinaculum is. The pain can be reproduced by pressing on that spot. I use both compression socks and sleeves (the later only when running) and my varicose vein is very milld and there is no noticeable inflammation of the ankle or bruising. Could it be that the sleeves are causing some inflammation in the ankle, leading to this pain?

Varicose veins sure CAN cause pain in the ankles! I had vein ablation done in 2013 complete with a number of sessions to minimalize spider veins. Ache and pains continue as before, and my ankles are nearly black with new veins!😖

I can always tell that yet ANOTHER varicose vein has arrived when I feel a kind of stinging feeling which feels like a bee sting. The stinging feeling lasts sometimes hours. Then I will see a redness which in a day or two turns into purple. The pain continues, more bee stings, more purple/ black and throbbing begins.

Our little granddaughter pointed to my left ankle yesterday, looked sad and said, "Boo-boo!"😖

    Indeed.

Varicose veins run in families. Our 36 year-old son is an elite athlete (CrossFit/ Ironman/ Ultramarathon/ Marathon) and is on his feet teaching and coaching, too. He and I compared our varicose veins yesterday. His are like ROPES. Mine LOOK better due to my surgeries, but they STILL HURT!

Compression socks and compression stockings (thigh-high) are helpful. Laying on the floor with your legs up the wall is REALLY, REALLY helpful. Our son sleeps in compression stockings and regularly lays on the floor with his legs up the wall following his long runs and after his weight lifting sessions.

I hope you will feel some relief very soon!😊

If you press on that spot then pain will be natural. It is not completely sure that sleeves causing pain to you. It would be great if you concern from some specialist to get rid off from the actual problem. Take care.
