could these pains be fibro pains?

it srarted a year ago... i woke up having electric shock type pains inbetween my shoulderblades and an odd sensation in my larynx like a soreness, thats never left. tgen i started getting the same pain mid back.... it would come and go, it only lasts seconds but can bug me all day tgen next day may only have it a few times... then i had a bout of nausea and slight diarrhoea only for few days.

after months of this i tgen had upper abdominal pain which radited through to my back, it was constant for a month, it graduly faded out, i was in and out of a& e as pain was awful, the abdominal pain stopped, ( I thought I had pancreatic tumor)

but ACT and an MRI scan and and endoscopy and laproscopy op and an eus proved they couldnt find anything wrong, and my pancreas looked normal.... my pain has now traveled round my body, i used to get flashes of pain in my ear, this will come and go... no patten to it, can bug me for days then nothing for months. now im getting the pains in my right and left side under ribs or in spine, and i get pains in my knees mostly on my right knee but on my left aswell, in my elbows, sometimes under armpit, in fingers wrists and toes, mostly in knees, and feels stronger in knees.

i have constand pain around shoulder blades that intensifies if i take a deep breath, which also intensifies my throat discomfort.

all my pain is like electric shock type pains, they dont tend to shoot but they just apear in an area for a second then go then apear in a totally unrelated part of body.... like i could have it in my knee, then my finger then my elbow, and so one....

i was scared i had a tumor pressing on nerves somewhere but, my pain is so widespread and effecting bothsides that it doesnt really make sense.... and iv had so many scans i was told a tumor would have been seen.

is fibro pain like these wide spread electric shock type pains?

Hello, It does sound similar to fibro symptoms with the widespread pain but are you experiencing any other symptoms such as fatigue or muscle aches? I would ask to be referred to a rhumatologist, which is what I did and I found he was the only one who could help. He helped me rule out anything nasty, confirmed it was fibro and put me on medication right away which does help my symptoms. It is very rare to just have pain with fibro and nothing else, for example i have fatigue, muscle twitches, ibs, chronic headaches etc ... do you get any of those?

    Hi Babalishous

Yes, unfortunately it is Fibro as thats how my pains started over 20 years ago.  Shooting pains as if an electric current has just been passed through you. Pains can be different for all but I still have the odd moments of electric currents and stabbing pains like if one is being knifed in the back. Blood tests, scans, xrays unfortunately don't show up Fibro. Rheumatologist can tell you if you have Fibro.

Gentle hugs and take care biggrin x

hi thanks for the reply. even if i dont have tiredness, tender points or musle aches?

the shock pains dont feel like tgey are traveling through me, it feels like im just being shocked in that area. only lasts a few seconds but keeps coming all day, iv woke up this morning feeling like im brused internally all down left side uder my ribs doesnt hurt to touch though.

can fibro give you a sore layrnx for a year aswell - non stop.?? x

I would say that it's unlikely to be fibromyalgia if you aren't experiencing the tiredness etc and pain isn't localised with fibro it is widespread x

Hi Babalishous I too have all those symptoms and more. I was diagnosed about 28yrs ago, I'm 45 now. Regarding your throat pain iv been experiencing that for almost 3 years, I also have severe earache and sorethroats consistently and it never goes away.I can barely swallow sometimes and breathing in deeply pains the back of my throat and neck.

Iv had a CT scan and waiting for my results but I'm told it could be part of Fibromyalgia.

Sometimes I feel that people of the medical profession are fed up of seeing me and it makes me feel down and very low as to what they're REALLY thinking.

Fibromyalgia is not seen as a serious condition, it's not taken as serious as LUPUS and other conditions, I think we are seen as hypochondriacs. Give it to them for a week and see how they cope.

I also have joint hypermobility syndrome where my joints dislocate so that doesn't make things easier for me I have to wear wrist braces. Life is hard.

Keep pressing on, one Gentle hug.

Hi, I also think it sounds like fibro symptoms. Being a sufferer for 10+ yrs now, I coped well with it up until the last year & a half. I was diagnosed with Costochondritis & Tiezes Syndrome, maybe worth looking into these. Maybe an answer or two there for you. Burning pins & needles, electric shock feelings between the shoulder blades & severe chest pains is what I have dealt with constantly for the last yr, its not much fun, so I totally sympathise with you. Take care of yourself, & I hope you get some answers soon. smile
