hi everyone,

had not taken my effexor for 4 days and felt great. Took it again today as finally got to the pharmacy.

my question is, i now have crazy anxiety and weakness. Could it be from not taking it for 4 days and now taking it again???

on effexor 75mg

    Hi there

Venlafaxine has a very very short half life. This means it leaves your system very quickly. I'm surprised you felt okay for those 4 days. I would think that the anxiety you have is from restarting it. I'm sure it will subside soon. Try not to miss your dose everyday. Its half life is 2-5 hours so missing a dose is really not an option.

    Hope this helpful info

Hi, Antony, I'm surprised you didn't have symptoms when you hadn't been taking it.. I too have not taken it and had symptoms.. however, when I started taking it again at the prescribed dose.. I had just the symptoms you described.. Please always pick up your prescription.. If you miss a few days then don't immediately take a full dose .. gradually increase.. it.. say.. half of dose morning and Half night time..then increase slowly by maybe 1/4 tablet morning and night just for a few days.. Ive been there.. thought I was ok like you but when I started back on them at the full dose I felt awful Anxiety. didn't know what I was doing.. etc.. Just telling you this because it's So important to remember to take this medication. Take care ..
