    Hi Precious,

Having read both of your posts, you seem to be going through a similar experience to me. I first reported symptoms to my GP in 1995 and he told me it was straightforward osteoarthritis, a view which was shared by a specialist about three years later. Broadly speaking, my symptoms have steadily worsened since then and it wasn’t until an MRI scan a year ago this week that my GP’s attitude changed. The scan showed severe degeneration on the right hand side of my neck which is sending pain down my spine and right arm. However, it wasn’t my GP who referred me for the scan but a clinical physiotherapist who I was referred to. My GP is very reticent about referring me for scans and, like you, I think I may have lumbar spondylosis as well (I had a lumbar puncture when I was 5 which, apparently, is a risky procedure in young children). I’ve asked my GP to refer me for a scan of my lower back but, so far, he will not do so. In fact, it took him until July to attach the name ‘cervical spondylosis’ to my condition. My advice to you is to see the physio and hope that they refer you either for an MRI scan or to someone who is more qualified to help you. My feeling is that doctors, in general, are not very familiar with CS and I have been repeatedly told that my intermittent blurred vision has no connection with my other aches and pains. Fortunately, perhaps, an eye specialist last month had a different opinion. Keep me informed of your case because I am genuinely interested in what happens. If you have any questions for me, don’t hesitate to ask. I’ll keep an eye open for future messages on this forum from you or, if you prefer, send me a private message.
