Could this be early stage CKD or PKD?

I have a history of autoimmune disease/ RA, hypertension and a confirmed large, irregular cyst on my left kidney plus microscopic haematuria - all of which I'm told are common problems in someone of 53.

i have been having flank and abdominal/ pelvic trouble for a while. I had my gallbladder out last year and thought all was fine but over the past six months my BP has continued to rise and my inflammation markers remain raised although no one knows why. I had a cystoscopy and was told all was fine by theurologist Because of dramatic changes in bowel habits I'm to be referred to gastroenterology for a colonoscopy.

Lately I've been having severe pain in my left groin. It doesn't spread into my leg but I do have lower backache with it so gave assumed it's arthritis. But it's so specific and intense in my groin now that I'm wondering if it may be related to this large left kidney cyst? Does kidney disease cause groin pain?

If my eGFR is normal usually does this rule CKD or PKD out as they seem to think or was the scan operator right when she told me that kidney bloods can be normal for a long while before kidney disease shows up in bloods?

I think if your GFR is normal, you are ok with the kidney.  Sometimes, the blood is minute, which could be an infection.  Most kidney cysts are harmless, fluid filled sacs.  If they get very large, they can be drained, I don't think kidney disease causes groin pain, not sure.  It is probably an infection or your RA.  Keep pushing the doctor, they will let you hang.  You have to be your own advocate. You demand results.   Hope u feel better, and get help.

Thanks so much for the really helpful reply Neffie. I have a great new gp who has referred me to gastroenterology now because the pain was higher up previously and I assumed it was IBS. It seems to have moved down into my groin now bad is excruciating - thought it was unlikely to be kidney related but because of the very large cyst, lower back pain and the ongoing traces of blood in my pre I thought I'd ask.
