Could this be Fibromyalgia?

So since my hysterectomy in October 2017 and emergency gallbladder surgery in Nov 2017, I have had severe, debilitating muscle/joint pain with severe fatigue that comes on after 1 12 hour shift of work and I wake up in the middle of the night feeling like I've been run over by a truck, take tylenol which doesn't even touch my pain and only begin feeling better after 2 days of staying in bed. I also have been having severe sinus headaches that wont go away. I've had trouble sleeping thru my adult life, but now the aching pain makes it even harder to sleep. I feel a throbbing aching pain with what feels like swelling all over my body, and most noticeably in my face, hands, and even toe joints! I had a friend hold my hand and they could even feel my hand throbbing. I thought at first it was just post-surgery recovery, but it's been over 7 months. I've also gotten spoken to by my boss about careless mistakes at work that I can't even remember-i fear for my job.

I have a fast heart rate from a birth defect that I've taken medication forever for, and also have severe depression and anxiety for the last 30 years and have been on paxil for 20 years. I am in my early 40s, have an aunt with fibromyalgia and severe insomnia. I had my 5 year cardiac check up a year ago and everything was good, but now my heart in the last six months has been more irritable and sometimes spikes in the 130s and I've had to take an extra dose of my heart medication ( I typically take metoprolol 100mg twice a day, but am finding myself needing to taking an extra 100mg a day, which my doc says was ok). I did see my doctor last week, told her about my heart, but didn't mention my aches and fatigue cuz, 1) wanted to go home and rest and 2) didnt know it could be anything other then my middle age body getting old n tired until I looked up my symptoms today and fibromyalgia kept popping up. Also, since my gallbladder was removed I have diarrhea every day, about 45 minutes after eating. Rarely any normal stools.

I can't think of anything else to add other than what does everyone think, and how do i(or how did you) get diagnosed?

Sorry for the long post and thank you in advance!

I was diagnosed via the EpicGenetics FM test and have been enrolled in the clinical trial currently awaiting FDA approval. The test is available in Europe ,the US ,Canada ,etc

    Hi Gretchen

    Have you seen a Rheumotologist?

They can diagnose you for Fibro if you have it.  They do a test on your trigger points.  Fibro is hereditory.  As for the diarrhea after gallbladder surgery that is normal. IBS could be the culprit. Watch your veggies. Broccoli and corn and cauliflower are very gasy.

I couldn’t eat some of these for a while after my gall bladder was taken.

I had migraines with my Fibro.

So I would suggest a Rheumy.

I haven't seen anyone yet, I only realized that it might be fibro yesterday after deciding to research my symptoms and having it keep popping up 😊. I honestly never considered it, I was more worried about CA. I have had a history of high blood calcium and very low vit D levels and some other blood levels that made a doctor I saw 10 years think I might have multiple myeloma, but I didnt. I started taking vit D again yesterday thinking that might help. But I definitely want to see someone as I have never felt like this before.

      Thank you so much!

Sad to hear you are finding things hard😢. I would defiantly talk to your gp, as they can run tests and help you get to the bottom of this.

Have you tried any relaxation/meditation techniques, as they are very good for insomnia, depression and anxiety? It might be worth looking into, while you wait and see what this is?.
