Could this be perimenopause or a hormonal issue

It all started last March. I tested positive to hpylori, around the same time i started experiencing lightheadedness, shortness of breath, chest pains & racing pulse. I went to the ER & was cleared for any heart problems, I also have seen many different drs. After triple therapy I was back to normal for about 6 weeks then these symptoms started again. I went to the ER 3 times & each time they have cleared my heart. I then noticed a pattern, each of my hospital appointments were a month apart all mid cycle & would seem to settle when my periods started. I booked in to see a female dr to ask for a hormone test & she shrugged it off & said I was too young to worry about that. I AM 45 years old. I then booked in to see a male dr but he basically said the same thing. I begged him for one so he sent me for a FSH test which came back normal. In march last year they found i had higher blood pressure when I stood up & they found I had low vitamin D. This is all they found. The dr mentioned that it could be anxiety because the tests are all coming back clear. It is scary, I feel alone & left to fend for myself. It is affecting my life, I'm scared I will lose my job, I rarely leave the house unless someone can come with me. Has anyone ever experienced this with perimenopause or hormonal issues. I need some advice or even a better understanding of peri menopause so I can get through this. Is there a test I can ask for to see if it is perimenopause? Any help would be good.

hi sandra - so sorry you are going through all this! have you had your electrolytes tested? I would definitely have a complete blood work done to be sure that your electrolytes aren't off because that can cause dizziness. what your experiencing could also be due to anxiety - that is entirely possible as well. Also, the University of Washington here in the United States lists the following on its website as possible symptoms of perimenopause - as you can see, dizziness is listed as the last symptom. so any of this is possible. please do be sure to get a full blood workup, though. I hope you feel better soon!

    Breast tenderness

    Hot flashes and night sweats

    Vaginal dryness

    Urinary incontinence

    Higher risk for UTIs

Changes in sexual function and desire

    Fatigue and sleep problems

Mood changes, such as anxiety or depression

Worsening PMS symptoms: cramps, IBS, bloating, etc.

    Weight gain

    Hair loss

    Heart palpitations

    Dry eyes and skin

    Headaches

Brain fog or trouble with memory or concentration

Dry mouth or changes in taste

Tingling in hands or feet or electric shock feelings

    Muscle aches or joint pain

    Worsening allergies

    Dizziness

      Hi Cassandra,

Thank you so much for your reply. I have had a lot of blood tests since March last year, I couldn't tell you honestly what they all were as I was so sick I'm not sure if the dr told me or I wasn't taking it all in. I do know that I had complete blood tests done & was told everything was normal. I will ask about the electrolytes though. Not sure if there are tests for anxiety but the dr has never done anything about it. I do have at least 17 of the symptoms on the list that you have provided. Thank you again.
