Could this be related to the Kidneys? Please help :(

Hello, I am 16 and my symptoms are as follows:

• Blood in urine (no infection/no infection found)

• Severe joint pain

• Swollen joints (such as ankles, legs and arms)

• Vomiting blood

• Severe fatigue

• Unbearable back pain

• Swelling on the lower right hand side of my back

My GP keeps on sending of repetitive urine samples and each time, these come back negative for any type of infection, however he keeps giving me amtibiotics (different/stronger ones) each time!

Around July time I was diagnosed with H Polyri of the stomach and that made me vomit bouts of clotted blood. It stopped as the condition was treated. However, I am now vomiting blood but it is a different texture, more thin and less dense is consistency.

My GP seems to be brushing all my symptoms aside and giving me randomly prescribed amtibiotics for water infections? I am upmost concerned and confused.

The condition is making me very tired and I cannot attend school due to being so poorly, which doesn't make me happy. To add to the whole thing, I now have tonsilitis again which is an added annoyance.

I'm very concerned and I also bruise very easily, which I forgot to mention. What could this be? Thank you.

    Hi Atkins98

Sorry to learn about your problem.

It can be a complication of your colon or stomach too, therefore don't suspect only the Kidneys.

You need to seek better / professional medical guidance asap.

    Hi,

I agree with the advice given, if there was an issue with your kidneys something would show up in your urine tests and you don't usually get any simptoms of renal failure until the end.  I have end stage and I am just a bit tired I don't and never have had any of the simptoms you describe (we are all different though). You need to ask to see a different doctor as giving out antibiotics when tests have come back negative seems daft to me.  Failing being able to see a different doctor get your parent to take you to A & E and tell them you are going no where until someone has taken notice of you.

Atkins, I agree with the others that you should be having specialist investigation to get an answer for your symptoms and receive the necessary treatment to make you better.  Ask your GP to refer you to a specialist, perhaps in rheumatology in the first instance.  Just continuously plying you with strong antibiotics could well be aggravating the situation.  If he isn't helpful then see another GP in the practice.  If that fails, then I agree with Helen's advice to go to A&E especially the next time you vomit blood

Lots of good luck wishes, and do come back and let us know how you get on.
