the photo isn't very clear, but it looks like your scalp is red. Is it flaky? Or does it have scabs on it? Have you seen a dermatologist?

Have you seen a dermatologist? Or have you just been prescribed stuff from your gp? GPs are not skin specialists and can often make a wrong diagnosis. If this new treatment has done nothing in 2 weeks ask your gp if you can have a video consultation with a dermatologist. It is almost the end of April now and if your gp has just been prescribing things that are not working for 4 months, surely they have to let you see a specialist, even if it is via video link. 4 months is a long time to have an uncomfortable scalp.

I had an itchy scalp which I would scratch and I got these sharp little sores which when they fell off left red soft red marks and I was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis by my gp. I was told to use coal tar shampoo and had antihistamine tablets to help the itching. But it never really cleared up 100% until I started using this shampoo that I always recommend to people on this board who have itchy scalps or dandruff and sores on their head. It is called MooGoo natural milk shampoo, it has no chemicals or preservatives in and I never have a problem with my scalp now. I don't even know if what I had was seborrheic dermatitis or just some type of allergy to something in regular shampoo.
I still think you should see a dermatologist, but if you have to wait, in the meantime you could try the shampoo. You can get it from Amazon even if you have something that needs proper treatment, this shampoo definitely won't hurt your scalp. It is a big bottle and lasts for ages, my scalp problem cleared up after a couple of weeks using this shampoo. I had tried every medicated shampoo from nizoral to alphosyl and none of them really helped that much, that is why I always recommend the MooGoo shampoo.
