Could this be symptoms of LS?

Hi there!

I hope someone with LS experience can help me.

I'm struggling with itching, burning and fissures around the anal area and between the labia. It started 5-6 months ago. There are some days where I don't experience any issues but such a period usually doesn't last longer than a week or so.

The itching isn't that bad anymore -it was terrible in the beginning though - but the skin is breaking quite often. It's usually happening around the same areas - between the labia on the upper end and around the anus. the fissures heal within 1-2 days.

There are these yellowish-white little spots on one of my labia - they look a bit like vestibular-papillomatosis or Fordyce spots when viewed under most good light conditions. But I recently took a picture (under quite bad light conditions) where I felt that they looked very much like LS (picture furthest down)

I have an appointment with a specialist in March but that's such a long time away. What do you think? Does this look like LS to you?

I got off birth control 9 months ago and I'm still hoping that it might be just a hormonal hiccup since my gyn told me that it can take up to a year until my body works again like it should and until all side effects of the transition disappear. It started 3-4 months after I stopped taking the pill - around the same time when I experienced other side effects of getting of birth control - hair loss, acne etc. The other side effects are almost gone by now. So I'm still hoping that this will stop eventually. But I'm getting more and more concerned that it really is LS - some of the symptoms sadly enough match all to well.

If this is LS, are there some cortisone ointments that I can get without a prescription that might help, so that I can ease my discomfort until I have the appointment?

This looks like lichen sclerosis. it usually has a figure 8 pattern around vulva and anus. All your symptoms fit as well.

Tell your doctor and get on the steroid ointment.

Hi Aby, it most probably is .everyone has it differently.I've had it for years. To stop the itching till you see your d doctor, use sudocrem. It's ok to use I have been using it with advice from mine for a while. You can use it internally.I suggest getting the tube though as it is easier to apply.
