Could you have a stroke but not know?

A while ago my grandfather had a stroke. He was absolutely healthy and so this came really out of the blue. The doctors put it down to the formation of his veins and arteries in his brain. It was a congenital thing. Meaning go it runs in the family.

This got me thinking for as long and as I can remember I have been experiencing little strange things. I will try to name a few.

Memory loss is one of those, it happens all the time. I will be in the middle of doing something but for some reason I will forget what I was doing or I could be in the middle of a conversation and forget and find it hard to remember a certain words like iPad or phone or glasses, really common words.

I also have weakness in my right side. I always seem to loose the grip of something I am holding. My eye sight in my left eye is not as good either, it is really noticeable when I do eye liner or eye shadow. I also seem to talk more from my left side of my face and when I smile my mouth it only happen with one side. My left eye can't open as much as the right.

I am only 19 and it is starting to worry me. So could I have had one as a child and never knew?

G'day mate from down under Australia. I am 38 , I had a series of Tia when I was 31. From my experience Tia / stroke happens on one side mostly. For ex , my left eye went blurry and didn't open properly. My left arm had no strength . My left leg had no stability. So I couldn't walk. The only thing that was different was my mouth. It dropped to the right. Which was strange. I had a series of Tia 's . Which means that I had one after another . I knew at the time that something wasn't right. I was awake and feeling numb ness and I had a lit of ticks. ( involuntary body jerking). I was like this for a few days , until we called an ambulance.  So I say if u not sure go and get it checked out straight away. Don't wait like i did. Now I have some permimant weakness.during the tests they found that I also had pioneiloma . Which is a cyst on the pioneal gland of the brain. I still have some memory issues and wish that I went and checked it out sooner. Better to check it out rather to wait. Hope I helped. Let me know how u go. Good luck.

G'day mate. It is the doctors code of practice to find out what is wrong. If u not happy with the level of help , then get a second app inion .. We'll mate, u will need to be really specific , and direct with them. Make a list of your issues in point form and go through the list with the dr one by one. Ask for MRI , get tested for epilepsy , full blood work , anything u can think of that would help . Your age shouldn't be a factor , u feel that u need medical attantion , so be brave and just do it ay. U know the quicker u find out what the problem is , then the quicker u can treat it ay mate.

We'll mate I am in outback Australia . Good luck mate, let me know how you go. Ok. Do a list and b positive .    Catch ya...

Hi Jazin, while nothing is impossible and I'm not a doctor, but have you seen your family doctor about this ? I have suffered a TIA myself and the symptoms fit the bill but there are other conditions I believe can cause these same symptoms and one in particular is Myasthenia gravis
