Couple of weeks after outbreak, severe itching

I had an outbreak a couple or few weeks ago which was my first one. Suffered terribly, had a catheter fitted it was that unbearable to pass urine. I would give birth 10x over again it was that painful!
Now I'm suffering with really bad itching down below, it's so irritable and uncomfortable when I'm out and about.
Can anyone give me an explanation or has anyone else had this?
Can people also help me with what happens with a second outbreak? Just need to know what to look for and what sort of symptoms I would get. And would be as bad as the first?
Thankyou!!

Hi Sharne,
I was diagnosed a month ago when I had my first outbreak. I experienced the unbearable itching. I had finished as antibiotic and thought I was getting a year infection, but no, I'm thinking it's the nerves going crazy. I've noticed since ice been on the antivirals my skin is even more dry than it was before, and I'm constantly scratching.
Witch hazel helped ease the itching along with personal lubricant.
I agree. I'll take pitocin again for a week than deal with an outbreak again. From what I've read, the outbreaks after the initial one isn't as bad. Are you on an antiviral regimen?

I only get given medication when I have an outbreak, should I be on anything else? I'm having an outbreak again I've got a cluster of three blisters which surprisingly aren't painful at this moment in time, but before they get worse I best get to my doctors and get some tablets last thing I need is to be catheterised again
I hope these don't get painful, it was hell honestly. I've had a baby and I would have 10 more if I didn't have to suffer with this again

What type do you have?
I also had terrible itching after and so did many other girls I know
My second outbreak (I have type 2) didn't come till like 3 months later and I was itchy in one spot, then I noticed a spot (which was definitely a sore) It was Itchy for a day then 3 days later it went, no problem weeing nothing like that
I also get a little pain in my groin before I'm going to get one, But now I get one itchy spot that lasts 3 days thats all

I have type 2 aswell, I'm going through another outbreak now I have three blisters all in one. Surprisingly they're not painful just itchy, but they've only just come on... I have been very stressed though the past couple of days and I've had no proper sleep for two weeks due to a teething baby! So maybe that's why. I'm gutted but before they get worse it looks like a trip to the doctors tomorrow to get back on the medication!
