Cramped legs

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can relate or has any answers?

I work in an office and commute to London each day for 2hours, the last three days at around 4pm my legs cramp up and I can barley walk this last all through the night, I ended up in tears this evening as the pains got back. I’ve had this before and was told pains could come from vitamin d deficiency.

Do you think this could be office related? Anyone have any tips for dealing with this for this from my thigh down to my ankle is cramped up and can barley bend my leg or walk?

Hi holly, I too suffer from very bad cramps/spasms in my back and abdomen. I'm not sure of the cause but completely understand how debilitating they are. I recently flew for a 4+hr. flight to visit my daughter. Thought I'd die by the time I arrived! Let me know if you find something helpful!

      Hi Lynda.

I have had the tummy pains for over a year now also, don’t know whether this link? Oh no I can imagine the pain sad

Only thing that’s helping me right now is hot baths, but still struggling to walk! I will be sure to keep you posted with anything that helps x

It must be so difficult especially having a daily commute. I occasionally have leg cramps but I am retired. Someone will advise but I think a bath with Epsom salts may ease the cramps. As you may not have a bath this may not be feasible. I'm sure Eileen and others will be along in the morning to advise.

You could always ask your doctor to check your vit D level for starters.

Can you get up every hour or so for a couple of minutes and move around?  Also, look up office exercises for tips on how you can stretch and move while at your desk.  Don't stay at your desk during your breaks!  you may need a little more magnesium as magnesium deficiency can lead to muscle cramps.  Try relaxing in an Epsom salts bath, even a footbath.

Do you have PMR? Are you on steroids? They can cause your body to lose magnesium and calcium - and a shorter of either can lead to cramps. Here in mainland Europe the first thing the doctor would say is to try magnesium supplements if that doesn't work a blood test to check other things is usually done.

I had painful hips and legs which turned out to be a flare.  I upped my pred from 7 to 15 mgs for a couple

of days and then went down to 10 mgs where I stayed for about a month.  A month later, I am on 9 mgs, no pain.  It felt as if my veins had clogged.
