Crazy heart palpatations, especially at night

Recently I have been experiencing strange heart palpatations. These are most noticiable at night in bed. I turn over position and my heart suddenly speeds up, 4 or 5 rapid beats and then seems to stop for a moment completely. I have also noticed similar during day when bending over or lying down. So, it seems to me to be exacerbated by changing of position. I brought the above to the attention of my doctor but they didnt seem too concerned after performing a physical exam.

However its really scary and worrying all the same...
