Crippling fatigue

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have been pretty exhausted since october, and doctor put me on HRT patches about 10 days ago. Don't really have many symptoms of perimenopause, not the usual ones anyway. periods are still regular, sex drive is normal. But I've had such debilitating fatigue that I've had so much time off work since november. Just wondered if anyone else has had this, and how long did it take to get your strength back once on HRT. I literally feel like the muscles, in my arms especially have just died off. I'm still going walks and doing yoga, tried some light weights the other day and the 2 days after I was absolutely exhausted. I've had lots if bloods taken and everything is normal. Any info would be a help. Thanks.

    Hello There, BJ...

First and foremost, I'm happy, your blood work is normal! Regarding the crippling fatigue you're experiencing, I know exactly what you're speaking of. I experienced that anomaly four years ago, and it was absolutely horrific, to say the least! that is a terrible road to be on. Suffice it to say, its called Crashing Fatigue. It is one of the countless, RELENTLESS menopausal symptoms, we endure throughout the meno trios. Many of the symptoms hang around for awhile, then they disappear, suffice it to say, some of those same said symptoms return with a VENGEANCE! Regarding HRT, I am taking the ALL-NATURAL route, and have been since the inception of peri-menopause, I do as much as I can to maintain a healthy lifestyle, yet I am adamant, that this TSUNAMI forces its way though ALL things stellar! In case you're wondering, I am DEEP in the throes of post-menopause, six years and counting. The best advice I can give you is this: Be VERY kind to yourself, cut back on sugar, drink plenty of H20, let your family members know you are in the peri-menopausal stage of your life, journal, exercise, get a hobby, limit your junk-food intake, and research this stage of your life. That said, be well my menopausal sistah!

Thank you. Doing all of the above. I have a sweet tooth which im really trying hard to cut down on, but pretty healthy otherwise. Just desperate to get back to work, but feel like this is never ending. I pushed myself a bit harder with my workouts for 2 days then was absolutely floored the 3rd day. Trying hard to keep them up but its not easy when you end up feeling like that. But thank you, its reassuring to know this is normal. You can't help but think something else is going on.

Its normal recommended to give HRT 3 months to fully work . Though it normally starts give some relief in weeks. Though the fatigue is normal the hardest symptom to get rid off.
