Crisco All Vegetable Shortening Pain Reliever

From David, Toronto (mhairig)

My second dermatologist, the one intersted in more than hygeine advised rubbing Crisco all vegetable shortening aka lard on the affected area 4 times a day. I have noticed considerable improvement in the pain department but the condition still exists.

When I was told to rub Crisco on before I assumed it was the oil but it is the solid form that seems to work.

My inflammation of the perianal area is non infectious ie not fungal or yeast.

Hope this works for other sufferers.

Do you mean just normal lard that is white and brought in a block mate?

tried that about 6 months ago and gave up because in the morning it stank to high heavens (used to put it on before going to bed).

If it just helps heal the scratch wounds that's better than nothing I suppose.

I've found pinching is better than scratching, though to be honest sometimes as you probably know yourself you've scratched before you've had the chance not to.

Yes white solid lard but extracted only from vegetables. Since there seems to be a mystery about what causes the itch there seems to be a mystery about why itches are relieved. So assume one thing works for some people but not all. good luck. For the last 6 months it was a challenge getting through the day; now feel more like I used to even though the problem is still there. mhairig

Will have to look around for vegetables.
