I've got a friend who has had Crohns for years. He has learned to avoid certain foods and has less flare ups. The most important foods to avoid are green vegetables ( broccoli, spinach, cabbage etc ), brown bread, and brown rice. Basically anything with tough fibres or stems, because they take longer to break down. There.s also a newish treatment becoming available called 'LDN', which although it hasn't been approved yet, is available. Look up 'LDN Research Trust' on net for info.

Try keeping a food diary so you get a vague idea of what upsets you. I cant eat anything with skins tomatoes potatoes etc. have to peel them first which is a nuisance when its new potatoes, another thing is Kos lettuce, I also cant eat nuts.
I am on salazopyrin and 3 monthly B12 injections.
I do have the odd 'bad day' whereby im very tired and always running to the toilet but they are few and far between now.
Keep badgering the Dr as mine was ignored for several years and only got diagnosed when i went in with the fistula. Keep your chin up it may not seem like it now but you will manage it when you've sussed out what you can ear.
