Crouching Hippie - Hidden Danger ??

I think Ive seen people on there talking about crouching but I'm not sure if I can.
I'm seven weeks post op and I find myself doing it naturally - to stroke a cute dog, to look in the oven, to take a pan out of the cupboard.
Can I do this or is it a big no no and if so for how long ???
Thanks

When I went to see the surgeon at my four and a half month check-up, I asked him if there was any movement I shouldn't do and he said that bringing my leg/thigh up to my chest or putting my chest near my thigh. So this seems to rule out deep squatting (can't do anyway as I have OA of knees) and cutting my toenails/putting on my socks by sitting on the bed and putting my foot on the bed with my knee near my face, if you see what I mean. I am now just over six months from the op and still need to use my sock aid.

How has your recovery been going and when is your next check-in with your surgeon (likely soon I suspect)? Try to avoid any del moves until your surgeon has cleared you for them ( my surgeon lifted all restrictions at 6 weeks, telling me to do what I (and body) felt comfortable with) ...
Good luck.

hi sarah,
well, good for you, I think ... I cannot do it without hurting myself - too stiff I guess, so I don't do it ... did it spontaneously once in the supermarket to get something from the lowest shelf and yelped ....
You'd better ask your surgeon - 7 weeks post-op huh... well, as said before, still early in the healing process - remember how delicate the surrounding tissue still is - your body is just about to accept and integrate the hardware and perhaps doesn't need to be challenged yet ...
sounds that you are doing great !!!!!
big warm hug

Well had Physo today and I asked about crouching and I can confirm it's a definite no no !!! Apparently need to be cautious with things like that for six months.
Since being told I have caught myself doing it twice - oh dear. A habit I need to break if I don't want to dislocate !!! Must remember to bend not squat. Easier said than done but I will do my best.
