CRP gone up again

So not feeling great went to doctors. Took my temp which showed at 37.8. Decided she didn't like that so used another thermometer which showed 37.1. Conclusion.... Virus. Every time a virus. Feel like it's a cop out. Does anybody else have this problem?

Also my bloods are regularly high at the moment and the doctor tells me I need to phone my specialist to see whether to take it. My specialist says it is the doctors responsibility so every fortnight I have to do battle to get an answer. My specialist has now faxed my doctors to tell them to make the decision but as they say they are not qualified enough on MTX my confidence is shot to pieces

Oh dear, poor Lisa. Β I was told that only a Consultant can prescribe MTX and that is the person you need to see/speak to.

It does seem as though you are constantly being fobbed off. Β I have told doctors in the past, that I would prefer that they tell me they don't know, rather than waffling!

I have the same problem. Β My Consultant told me that if I have a problem, to contact his secretary, only she won't let me speak to him and I have an 'urgent' appointment in a month, which actually makes my follow up appt 2 months late.

It does make me despair sometimes.

Lordy Lordy! It's never ending isn't it?!! I was told only the consultant can prescribe it but the doctor can manage the bloods and advise whether you take the MTX or not.... Only problem is somebody forgot to tell them that! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ letting them fight it out amongst themselves hoping it will be sorted by next weeks bloods..... Little miss optimistic! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ xx

You have to be optimistic otherwise you'd just give up!

The trouble is, all these doctors are only as good as their support and if their support staff don't do what they are asked to do, then chaos reigns! Β [As we know!!]

I feel for you Lisa, It's the same for me. If it's to do with the Mtx you have to speak to the consultant. But, if it's a problem caused by the mtx I.e. An infection. You have to go to your doctor.

However, you have to tell the doctor most of the time what you can take or not!

Hope you feel better soon x

We should start our own clinic! Well, if we didn't feel so crap πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ xxx

Thank you! It's crazy but Mrs Mop taught me to re-educate them which is what I've been trying to do!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ β˜€οΈ

I think Mrs Mop has to devise a new plan!!

I've stopped the MTX because of severe pain and left a message with my Consultant's secretary but don't expect to hear from him because i do wonder whether he has actually been told.

My GP says that the Consultant is the person to deal with this.

I suppose I managed somehow before I took the MTX, so I will manage again, though before I started the MTX, Β I was taking Pred.

I think I need to devise a new plan too! Now on antibiotics as fever has got worse. 'So do I take MTX Monday or not?' I ask the doctor. 'Yes' she replied..... '100% sure?' Says I... Well unless you feel really ill.... πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ xxx

It won't hurt to miss a week or 2 Lisa, you could try missing Monday and if you feel really rough, you can always take it on Tuesday, or leave it till the following Monday.

I make a note of when I miss it - and any other drug that I am taking.

Phoned consultants registrar yesterday lunchtime as I was dubious of the doctors 100% take it.... And actually got a call back about 4pm today saying definitely don't take it!! So not taking it this week. I like to be told when I can't take it or I think if left to my own devices I would miss it out often πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚β˜€οΈβ˜€οΈπŸ˜Š xxx

It's back to this thing that I was told, only Consultants can prescribe it, so it seems reasonable to go back to them to ask the question and their Registrars will be closer to them than your GP.

      Β

Yes but the registrar has now actually written to the doctors to tell them how to make the decision which didn't work out too well πŸ˜§πŸ˜§πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ so I phone the registrar which annoys him but as my friend Casey says 'they are bothered and annoyed anyway' πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ xxx

    Hi Lisa

Trying to support you. The doctor is right he did NOT put you on meths. The problem is Consultants want to keep you off the waiting lists as it looks good for them. This course of action works BUT can annoy the consultant hey at the end of the day we patients count. Ring the hospital get theΒ switch board operatorΒ to put you through to your consultant. If the switch board operator queries who you are say ( do you realise who I am ). If you are TOTALLY fed up with you consultant ask your MP to write to the Health Secretary. IF that fails write to the local PRESS , The PRESS LOVE gossip and they will take the matter further. ALL the best

Thank you David. I have the consultants secretary's number but she is rarely there and it took him 8 days to phone back last time. Usually in fighting fit form I would be doing all you suggested and haven't ruled it out yet! Thank you for your support 😊

    Hi Lisa

Forget speaking to consultants secretary. Get the hospital switch board operator to put you through to the consultant. I am on the PPG committee at the doctors. We have new people on the reception. Went to doctors recently receptionist said next available appointment 2 weeks. I LAUGHTED said to her ( I am off to A & E ) that will cast the surgery Β£ 72-00 . O wait she said 12-30 appoinmeny ok I said yes.Β  PLEASE do not be fobbed off.

I've taken a screen shot of that thank you. I appreciate what you are saying but they WILL NOT put me through to the consultant. What can I do? I had an hour and a half meeting over at the doctors and they have put 'special measures' in place for me including my own secretary to speak with. So far

Whhops! Swollen fingers hit wrong button. So far it has not made much difference. Will keep trying 😊

      Hi Lisa

Where about are you in the country ?? we may be able to make contacts with colleagues I have a BIG network .

I am activeΒ in Β many parts so are my colleagues re the NHS.

We monitor the NHS, daily BUT NOT politically against ANY party. We appreciate each party has a voice and that is important.

I love the notion of being put through to the Consultant, Β can't see that happening here!!

Mind you, Β I have found an email address for mine - he is heavily into cancer research too, so the email address is at the Cancer Institute.

Where are you based David - are you England only?

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ what a notion. I can barely get through to his registrar these days! Who I don't trust

I tried to find his e mail but couldn't. I would imagine they are screened too xxx

My Consultant's secretary has just telephoned me and said 'I have discussed your condition with Dr... and he is happy to see you on March 31st. Β If you are in pain in the meantime, go to your GP'

She sounded so arrogant. Β The whole point, is that my GP isn't qualified to deal with this, that is why I was referred in the first place.

I've got other things to worry about at the moment!! Β My boiler decided that yesterday would be a good day to flood the place! Β Fortunately, it is/was water and not oil, which it could have been.

Oh life is such fun, isn't it - but hey, the sun has come out to play.

      Mrs Mop,

Poor poor you. It's things like boilers going that we really can't cope with on top of everything else. Sending you hugs..... March 31st? What's your secret? How so fast? πŸ™ŠπŸ™ŠπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ you have to laugh or....... Sending you β˜€οΈβ˜€οΈβ˜€οΈ Thoughts. I'm now off to rest my fever. At least it gives me an excuse for watching box sets I haven't opened! Every damn cloud right? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ xxx

The boiler is fixed, it was a washer!

The sun is still out, which is nice.

Box sets seem like a good idea!

My friend came this afternoon and now I am exhausted

Hope your fever decides not to hang around Lisa. Β

My washing machine is washing and drying the several thousand [ok, so I exaggerate a little] towels that I used to mop up the water.

Tomorrow is another day - hoorah!

It has been a lovely day here today but the sun did a bunk quite early, at about 2 o'clock.

It's nice to see people but it is quite exhausting, isn't it?

It's lovely to see people but yes exhausting. I had my windows cleaned this week and for the first day of sunshine a bird decided to poop (quite a large bird by the look of it!) on my window. Have they no respect for MTX? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Now laying back and getting lost in The Legacy. 😊😊😊 xxx
