Hello, I went for my 12 week appointment from fib and tib surgery. At my 6 week I asked about my toes going purple, they said normal and after cast got taken off that day should go away!!
Well it never did within a minute of my foot being down it is purple and I am still 3/10 with pain just sitting and elevated!! Burning, tingling, zaps and hot and cold. I was diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome.
Now almost three months and still coug bound and elevated!! Going stir crazy a busy mother that can't do anything!!
Dr. Said no cure but to up vitamin c, anti inflammatorys and pain specialist to work on nerve blocks.
Just wondering if anyone has suffered from this as I am looking for anything that may help the process along as they say there is no cure! I know what I have googled but would like to hear from the ones that have to deal with it and how long!!

Sounds so familiar and still wondering if those symptoms are from immobilization in a cast for 6 weeks. Orthopaedic surgeon prescribed Physio and Gabapentin, saying it'll all go away and to be patient. Not sure what to expect. Trying to stay positive. I'm also very active. This all sucks

I was diagnosed with CRPS about 8 years ago...red/purplish coloration and mostly severe burning sensation and knife like feeling when weight bearing. Went through months of pain management, nerve blocks and was told there was no cure. Then ran across a natural (which I normally don't believe in) treatment to reset the autonomous nervous system between leg and brain...3 months of immobilization, elevation and sensitivity therapy with an anionic polyacrylamide cast that held heat and cold alternating in 8 hour periods. Had relief after 12 weeks and complete cure after 24 weeks...no recurrence 8 years later. Good luck with yours...I know the frustration of being told there's no cure and then nerve blocks and ketamine treatments and all these treatments that did nothing while your life is on hold.

I am really hoping for the same results so sick of not being able to do anything!! I don't normally believe in the natural remedies either but would like to know more about it to try something!!

I was in a boot up until wk 21 post op. I have 1plate and 6 screws in my ankle. I also have a bone bruise on my knee and had a broken hand. A drunk driver hit me April 22. The purple color, tingling, stabbing, throbbing, and numbness are all normal. My surgeon said because of hardware and surgery nerves get damaged and circulation takes time to come back. I’m on gabapentin and it does seem to help. I’m not on as much as in the beginning but I still have numbness of my big toe and some nerve pain on top of my foot. Color and swelling eventually goes away. Keep elevating and icing when needed. Good luck and let your body have the time it needs to recover. 🙏🏼
