CRPS treatments

Hi, I have severe CRPS in my right foot/ankle/leg. So far it has been resistant to any of the treatments that have been tried. Today I went to the Walton centre in Liverpool for a bier block however, they were unable to carry out the procedure as when the specialist came to do it he said I have no veins left in my foot. Has anyone had a similar experience. I am obviously devastated as I had been led to believe that this treatment had the best chance of being successful and I am now left wondering what this will mean for me long term. I would really appreciate others sharing their experience of CRPS with me and also what treatments they have found effective.

I would be really interested to see replies to your message Candice as I too have a post about CRPS. I am not easily beaten but this is getting the better of me. I sympathise with your problem. I have entered the forum as I feel that I have taken up too much of the surgeons time & feel embarrassed about the failure to get rid of the pain myself. This is a first for me

Hi Kath I'm Candi's Partner with CRPS I haven't tried marijuana for CRPS I have Asthma plus I don't think it would help. I find any kind of stimulant brings on more PAIN. I have give up Caffeine & really limit the alcohol I drink. Atm I am two weeks into doing a P.M.P on there people asked that question for all sorts of pain problems, their reply was its not worth getting in trouble with the police over, as it be something that doesn't work. I take morphine which doesn't take the pain away but help me deal with it.

I hope this helps You with this Awful syndrome

Thank you for getting back to me. I wouldn't want to use 'drugs' for treatment either. It was kind of you to spend the time to reply.

New treatment that is successful. Approved in Italy. In clinical trials in the US:Intravenous neridronic acid. Wishing you the best. Do not give up! 20 to100% pain reduction with this treatment. I understand your frustration and pain! I am also a sufferer of CRPS.

    Best regards,

    Stephen

I was diagnosed with CRPS about 8 years ago...red/purplish coloration and mostly severe burning sensation and knife like feeling when weight bearing.  Went through months of pain management, nerve blocks and was told there was no cure.  Then ran across a natural (which I normally don't believe in) treatment to reset the autonomous nervous system between leg and brain...3 months of immobilization, elevation and sensitivity therapy with an anionic polyacrylamide castalternating in 8 hour periods.  Had relief after 12 weeks and complete cure after 24 weeks...no recurrence 8 years later.  Good luck with yours...I know the frustration of being told there's no cure and then nerve blocks and ketamine treatments and all these treatments that did nothing while your life is on hold.
