Cruise Ship at 10 weeks

I have a bit of an unusual question. My wife wants to take the family on a 1 week cruise at my 10 week mark. Having never been on a cruise or had a THR I am not sure how realistic this is. I will ask my surgeon.

But I am just curious. Would this be absolutely 100% out of the question?

Would anyone here have considered it at week 10?

How lovely! I've never been on a cruise but I love being near the sea, so relaxing. Personally, I can't see any reason why not, It will be a relaxing week with plenty of fresh air

As for your mobility, I would take both crutches with you to give yourself added stability if necessary.

Bon voyage and send us a postcard! ??

    Hiya

I flew to NY at 11 weeks for a week so I guess nothing's absolutely out . A cruise ship should be ok as long as not too many stairs , and even if you're not using anything I would take a stick - different environments etc - also check size of bed out to make sure you'll be comfortable --different surgeons impose different restrictions - some for 6 weeks and some for 12 so check that out also - enjoy ! Hi John.  I have been on several cruises and. Nothing beats them for relaxing.  The only thing I warn you about is the distances on the ship.  They are huge, so having crutches or a walker is important.  I would also advise the ship about your recent surgery, so that they take your mobility into account when holding emergency drills.  I don't know if you need a handicapped room, but if you do you should book early.  They have handrails and walk in tubs.  Otherwise, enjoy!

Not for me - stairs in ships I have been on have tended to be rather steep, but I have not been on a cruise ship so cannot really give an informed answer.
