Cruising and IBS symtpoms

Some of you are probably tired of me posting. But I'm going on a cruise soon and apparently you have to answer some medical question like do you have a fever with cough, runny nose, etc. And there's diarrhea and vomiting. I'm confused whether I should answer yes for diarrhea or no. I've been suffering from IBS symptoms for a couple months now and I don't really know I feel I should say yes or no. what would happen if I say yes? I just want this vacation to be a getaway from my anxiety and stress and I dont want to do more medical stuff that isn't the reason my anxiety started. Btw, I have mostly health anxiety but Ive been getting a lot of anxiety from basically everything. Like I freaked out yesterday because what if I go on the cruise and it's be like the titanic?! I'm like crazy..trust me

This is my opinion; just say no. They dont really have to know your ibs situation and wont understand it as well. They would take dhieria as bacterial.. Thus, it is not necessary for you to disclose your dhieria as it will be nothing but confusion only.

I suggest you keep some pills with you during your vacations for your anxiety (lexotanil etc..) in case you may need. Other than than that please try focusing on having good time instead of listening your body... Dont miss the fun with unnecessary overthinking! Have a great vacation!

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I would say no either way because my diarrhea is not that bad (loose stool, occasion watery not doesn't happen a lot) and I get constipated a lot too so maybe that week would hopefully be a good, normal week for me with better bowels, or just constipation (hopefully not tho).

One more question, you can buy anxiety pills without prescriptions? My doctor never gave me pills, just therapy and some anxiety tips.

Sorry dear...depends on your location but I dont think you can...But there are natural relaxation medicines (pasiflora etc.) as well which might not need prescription. Dont think I am motivating you for pills etc. Just thought it would be helpful since you said you hqve severe anxiety. If doc. Did not recommend maybe you can keep your anxiety under control without medicine

In my business trips, I get pineapple everyday to avoid constipation. In case might help. And loose stool is not diarrhea...even it might be your normal, means how your body works. Ideal stool is not only 1 type...there is variety range.

Oh well I get frequent loose stool. Ive thought it's diarrhea? Since the bristol chart says mild diarrhea. It can range from mushy and soft and very loose to just formed bUT a bit soft

oml so many typos in this. I mean "I don't want any more medical stuff because it the reason my health anxiety started"

They are only interested if you are infectious. They don’t need to know about IBS.

Cruising is great, you can do as much or as little as you like and you have your own bathroom! Enjoy it!

Personally I find honesty is the best policy

I want to be honest but I don't think they really understand or know much about IBS, they'll probably take it as infectious. Apparently, cruises a few times, have this virus thing on the ship that caused people to get diarrhea and vomiting. Thanks for the opinion, though

Friend of mine travelled with her elderly mother and said all cruises have to have a ship's doctor on board and they needed him so I would say with regards knowledge you won't need to worry

Oh thanks! One more question. Would loose stool be considered diarrhea. If not then I'll just say no. I don't get a lot of watery, just a bit loose

Just say no, you can handle this, everything will be okay and you'll have a great time!
