Hi

I'm looking for treatment for an anal skin tag and wondering if anyone has any experience of cryotherapy?

Thanks!

I have similar question as I was looking into this...from what I read, this is not typical procedure Dr will choose as putting the ingredients found in cryo treatment close to sensitive parts of body creates added risk (e.g. cold sensation you get during application would likely be too much to bear) but this treatment is ok for other parts of body. I plan to confirm this with my Dr but could see this may be the case.

I had cryotherapathy for an anal skin tag 20 years ago. I had gone to a sexual health clinic here in the UK as I was worried about what it was. I don't remember it hurting much but it was a long time ago! More recently I had a worrying lump elsewhere in the genital region. The doctor gave me some steroid cream which didn't help. So again I went to a clinic as I thought they were more likely to know what it was. To be honest I thought it might be cancer. But they said it was a harmless skin tag and froze it. The procedure did sting though not unbearable and I was sore a day or so afterwards. It just disappeared gradually after that.
