CS, a right pain in the neck

Hello everyone,

Hope someone can advise me. I have CS and right now my neck pain is so bad, it shot down the back of my left shoulder this am like a muscle cramp. I think I overdid my neck exercises as I slightly deviated from the ones my physio told me to do and did some others I saw online. It is making me feel muzzy headed and slightly giddy. I plan to see my GP, yet again, but before I do was wondering if anyone has taking anything for headaches and giddiness caused by CS. I think I am getting cervicogenic dizziness. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

.......apart from the obvious piece of advice - listen to your physiotherapist and don't deviate.

    Hi Lina,

I have experienced the same. Best recommendation is to get a deep tissue massage, perhaps start weekly and use a heating pad in a comfy recliner that supports your head. I suggest the electric heating pad, I think Sunbeam has a good one.

      Hi acydgod,

Thanks for replying, I will look it up. Did you take any meds? My rhuematologist told me to take paracetamol for the pain but they make me nauseous. I really need something for the dizziness. I can't function like this, so frustrating. smile

I did see a rheumatologist also at first when I didn't know what was causing my symptoms. He told me ali had a sensory issue in the class of fibromyalgia and that it could go away or may never.

He suggested something like Lyrica but since he really was totally off on the cause, I'm glad I ignored him.

I was also prescribed gabapentin by my neurologist which I did take but it made no difference, I think it may have even made me dizzy/foggy , but I stopped.

I would suggest first to be patient, I believe it will fade on its own, give it a week at least. If you add a drug, you won't really know for sure if it goes away whether a result of the drug or time and they all had some side effects.

      Hi again,

Thank you for the sound advice. Neck not too bad this am, perhaps I'll have a good day. I will look online for a heat pad for sure.

      Best wishes
