CT results and every Dr has a different opinion

Hi, I have been experiencing right upper quadrant pain for the past 6 months. I have right shoulder pain and lower back pain. I have had a normal HIDA scan and all my blood work is normal, negative for hepatitis. I had a CT scan and the results stated ?

Heterogeneous enhancement of the liver indicating nonspecific periportal inflammation . This is most often seen with acute or chronic hepatitis. Circumferential low attenuation throughout intrahepatic portal venous system and initial arterial phase sequence demonstrates heterogeneous enhancement of the liver. No focal masses found, liver is otherwise normal in size and attenuation. ?

I have seen my primary Dr, was sent to GI and they said they are not concerned about my liver at all because my lab work is great. They said they wanted an endoscopy. What does everyone think about this?

Youmay have been exposed to hepatitis b and your body has already irradicated it. I would advise you to follow up every six months on your liver labs.

Make sure your viral count pass zero. Otherwise it can sneak up on you.

Personally, I would get an appointment with a heptaologist as it's been my experience primary care Drs and even most gastro's have very limited liver knowledge. They seem to think if labs are within normal limits then the liver is fine but one can have liver disease and present with normal labs.

Deff get the endocospy done. I had one and it's easy peasy and it's a good test to have done esp if your having persistent abdominal pain.

Have you had an abdominal ultrasound?

Totally agree. This year has been a nightmare for liver problems, for me. I have just come out of hospital following a liver resection despite blood liver tests being completely normal. Def ask for referferral to hepatologist (usually at regional hospitals
