hi all...im a 36yo male with no history of urilogical issues...but the past 2 weeks they found Microscopic traces of blood in my urine and as such im going for a CT scan and MRI on wednesday...whilst im there they will check whole abdominal area...so organs stomach and bowels also as it makes sense as its where they will scan anyway ..so in a sense it could give me good results leaving me a bit health anxiety free so i hope ....the doctor is confident they will not find anything and said its more for my piece of mind and also its just a good chance to eliminate doubt or worry ...im just a bit nervous of course of the what if but im training myself to be an optimist so im lookin at the positive sides ...i just wanted to ask if you have any stories of CT scana or MRI...whats it like etc? thanks in advance

I have had several MRIs and I do believe the CT scan is a similar experience.it’s really nothing scary and as a matter of fact I was quite relaxed during my MRIs. you simply lay there and you will hear a series of noises or banging sounds which is just the MRI at work. You feel absolutely nothing so don’t worry about that. Some places will even give you headphones with music which is very relaxing. I just close my eyes and relaxed and pretended I was laying on a beach somewhere lol.
before I knew it it was over. that’s great you are doing this because it will give you peace of mind. Microscopic blood in the urine is extremely common. I have had that before as well as my sibling and a couple close friends. It was nothing serious. Take care!

thank you for the response ..yes as far as tests go..not painful and should be relaxing ..a small bit of radiation but ive seen Marvel movies 😄 not all bad 😄 ha ha...im staying upbeat...doctor seemed very sure they will not find anything on fact he stated 15-30% of men my age have microscopic hematuria as normal with no cause...so im staying positive...i dont have any negative symptoms ....good appetite...putting on a bot of weight i lost with Gastritis...able to complete a 40min a day workout....long walks and stay energetic...no fever and no nausea or other issues...so im quietly confident but i always have that voice in back of my head 😃 thanks again for the reply....between all us anxiety sufferer s i think there is a movie or book to be made 😄

so CT scan complete and results all good...show and confirm Kidney Cyst which i knew already and an additional renal artery which is harmelss....so the results indicate no cause of the microscopic hematuria....just one of those who has a bit in their urine...doctor recommended as a follow up i can see a Nephrologist however not a need nor referral....so im happy with trusting my body and it wont help my fight against Health Anxiety searching for even more assurance so im trusting my body and accepting that it just is...ihad my kidney bloods done just over a month ago and it was all good as was Ultrasound and CT scan soim getting on with my life
