CT scan, results and the doctor

Hello all,

I am in a bit of a pickle this evening.

My mum went for a CT scan yesterday for side/abdomen pain. She has had a phone call this evening from the doctor asking can she go for a sit down chat with him tomorrow to discuss results as he is slightly concerned as the scan has shown some "thickening of the liver."

I'm a little angry at the doctor if I am honest to just ring and leave her hanging like that until tomorrow. Is that standard practice? She had bloods done a few weeks back and the liver function was clear. She is confused and fumbling around this eve after the call. It isn't nice to see.

Any info greatly received.

Dave

Id say its normal. If he didn't say anything she'd still be wondering why she has to go in. He has told what the results said therefore allowing her understand before she goes what he wants to talk about.

I suppose the doctor could have asked what she preferred to know over the phone before meeting the following day.

Always listen to the doctor but also promote body healthy living. We should do what we can to make life easier for our bodies.
