    sorry you are having problems.

Have you asked you gp if you could have a scan.

I believe you can approach a private hospital and ask for a price but not sure if you require a letter to see a specialist first.

worth a try and ring a private hospital and ask

    They are really helpful.

Hi Holly, that's what I love about this site!  You always get support from someone! Well I just web chatted a private hospital I know I said I was an nhs patient, the girl on the chat immediately said in her words! (I don't deal with nhs.)! I was flabbergasted admittedly she said I needed a referral from mu own doc, but it was the way she did it like I was beneath her. I sent another enquiry to the private hospital near me and told them about what I had just experienced and said I may be a paying customer I got her first name but not the surname. Sorry to moan! I do have another referral coming up but it's like they won't scan me (prob money but I've paid my taxes like everyone else). Think they are about 7oo privately. have you ever had one?  holly. thank you x

Hi Cathy yes I would say about 700 for a scan.I don't think I'm allowed to say the name of the private hospital I would use but it begins with s all over the country.

Your gp should send you, I'm not sure if you will have to wait a while.

Hi Holly Thank you yes I've been researching on the web today and the private hospital near me rang me just now (she was very nice) I did complain. About how the person made me feel on the web chat too!  She said it would be over 600. Plus a consultation fee after the scan, so you are looking at over 800 plus, which is a lot of money, I'm going to see what happens at the next referral (a different consultant and see what happens) if they don't offer a ct scan I will get referred privately but am loathe to have to spend any money when others seem to get treatment for other things! Thank you so much for your support! Greatly appreciated I will try to let you know my outcome.  Mind you I see so many stories on here where many are not treated properly it's going downhill Thanks again xx

    Hi cathy 88329,

Ask your doc to refer you for an ultrasound scan....there is a bit of a waiting list these days if you live in UK........best wishes
