Ooh no - I wish mine would loosen up, we might be able to get it back in the correct position !

I imagine they MUST be going to do something about it .... surely ?  You cannot be expected to go around with a loose acetabular cup, I'm not surprised that you are in a lot of pain.

I would start insisting on getting something done about that.

    Best wishes

      Hi Graham

I am seeing my surgeon at end of March and hopefully get it sorted , looks like I'll be back on the painkillers for a while , off on a Carebean cruise in 3 weeks so hopefully that will help

      Cheers Ian

I am surprised that your surgeon didn't recommend an immediate revision when it was discovered that the cement was failing 8 months ago. If it were me, I'd make an appointment as soon as possible to see the surgeon, especially now that you have severe pain. I doubt things will get better unless action is taken.

Too bad you have to wait that long, but glad you have an appointment. Enjoy that cruise, and hope the painkillers help!

I have not had cemented cup however I have to have the poly cup press fit requiring replacement  due to wear and tear.

replacing the cup is not as envolved as THR it is maintaince proceedure done on every THR eventually, ask for press fit cup lasts longer mine is 18 yrs. Many cement implants have a history of failing. You may be in a position for compensation for the cup cement failure. Contact the manufacturer for further info.

i had a THR that was recalled in class action suit for compensation for revision and pain and suffering.  5 weeks out from revision and feel so much better to have the failed xplant removed.

many healing 🙏🏽 sent ur way.

    Hopexxx
