Hope everyone is having a good day

By the time I had been on list for 15 months I didn't care what they have me as long as it wasn't metal .

I Ppam 60 ,  12 weeks in this week and had ceramic on ceramic which they give to younger patients ( me young! )

at 6 weeks check up dr told me to look after it as it is hoped to last me a life time !

    Good luck

Hi linzi, I,m 68 very active, fit as a fiddle, 24 day post op, no idea what sort of hip replacement I,ve got , never thought to ask the question. But it feels great , walking very easey with one crutch, no pain, still some mussel stiffness. No pain relief needed just Red Wind and the odd Guiness (or two).

    best wishes

    Hi linzi

Ceramic on ceramic, surgeon chose it as it is the one that should last longest and due to my age 58 and I hobby of walking is the most durable for me.

Morning racheal, its easy to say dont be nervous, but if you think about the pain you have now, After the surgery that pain has gone. the op. is over before you know it, you are up and about the next day and back home in a few days. The hardest thing about it for me is like so many sleepless nights trying to sleep on my back. But we work with and get round the problem somehow. and we get better and better as each day passes.
