Currently taking Boric Acid. Question Ladies!

Ok so here I am day 4. First two days I was using the BA twice a day then went to only at night. Since starting I haven’t seen any signs of my BV until todayrolleyes I have a little yellow discharge no strong smell no yeast. I have been chronic for about a year now so I know this could take some time. MY QUESTION is if it’s safe to use the ultimate flora probiotic 25 billion Vaginally at night? I’ve been orally taking them for a few weeks and have noticed any change. Or is there a better probiotic/supplement to vaginally insert? I also take a garlic supplement.

If anyone has anything additional I could while on BA to help that would be great! I plan on using them every night for the 14 weeks and HOPING I can go down to just maintenance. Still having sex everyday 🤦🏽??? My boyfriend has a “I love you it doesn’t bother me, let’s just worry about it later” attitude I love him but I very much want to smell and feel better 😬 I am not letting him finish in me so hopefully that’s not compromising my ph levels too much.

If i recall correctly, you're not supposed to use the boric acid more than three times per week.  If you can, see your doctor and get the metro gel (it goes in the vagina twice a day).  It has helped me the most and I've been dealing with BV for over two years.  After that treatment, you can just do the boric acid twice a week, like Sunday and Thursday nights, for example.  And drink kombucha, about 4 ounces a day.  This has been a good routine for me, keeping it from coming back for months at a time.  Good luck.

I read I should do it for 2 weeks but unfortunately I experienced some spotting yesterday and I’m on birth control and no where near my period so you my be right. I didn’t have any pain or discomfort but that scared me so I stopped.  I’ve been on metro gel for a little over a year nowrolleyes i was taking it everyday. My BV is chronic and I see it everyday so I decided to stop taking metro gel and try something new. Kombucha I haven’t tried I will definitely look into it! I’m asking my doctor to proscribe Tindamax. I know it’s for an std but I’ve read that women with BV can also find relief with it.

    Hi Espy,

Sorry that you are having symptoms again.  I haven’t tried boric acid because I’m a little scared of inserting that inside. However, I did start to take garlic supplements and I noticed that the smell isn’t as foul as it was before. However, just three days ago I noticed A LOT of discharge and yesterday especially. It was also a kinda light yellowish/greenish, I couldn’t really tell but I’m sure it bv again even though I’m not having intense itching. It’s so frustrating I feel like nothing I’m doing is working. I honestly feel terrible because my bf and I haven’t had intercourse in about a month and even that hasn’t stopped the bv from coming back.

My BV is back to today with a vengeance girl I feel your pain! I just took 4 pills of Tindamax and I have 4 more tomorrow. The reviews have been so mixed but I’m trying everything. My discharge is yellow/clear with yeast.

I bought “good clean love restore” a girl recommended it. She’s been BV free for about 7 month after 2 years of battling. It was around $15 at cvs. I’m hoping that helps me some.

I also bought VD3 5000ui and a multivitamin with folic acid.

I keep telling myself to push forward that we will see the end of this but 5-6 years of this and now dealing with chronic BV is so disheartening. I’m sorry this is causing a rif in your sex life. I know how that feels we just want to be normal.
